Tracking transparency

We don’t show targeted ads inside Commingle. We don’t sell your data to advertisers, financial institutions or data brokers. We don’t need to know your social profiles, what you search for or what you do in other apps.

For most of your time with Commingle, there’s simply no reason for us to ask.

Why might Commingle ask to track me?

After you’ve been using Commingle for a while, we may ask for tracking permission.

We don’t ask everyone. We may ask if you’ve become the kind of user we’d love to find more of – someone who regularly tracks their finances, explores their spending, uses Commingle with friends and perhaps even supports us with a subscription or top-up.

In other words: you’re helping keep the lights on, and we’d quite like to find more people like you.

What happens if I allow it?

Advertising platforms can use the signal that you’re a Commingle user to help us reach people who are statistically similar to you.

Maybe you love spreadsheets, book flights six months early, own an unreasonable number of houseplants, compare the price of olive oil between supermarkets and have extremely strong opinions about which side of the dishwasher mugs belong on.

We don’t know.

The advertising platform might know some of those things. It doesn’t tell us.

Instead, we can essentially say: “Find us more people like this person.” The platform does the matching and may show Commingle ads to people with similar characteristics.

We don’t receive your interests, browsing history, social profile or a mysterious dossier explaining why you were considered a good Commingle user.

We just hopefully get more good Commingle users.

You’re always in control

If we ever ask, saying no is completely fine. Commingle will continue to work normally and you can change your tracking permission later in your device settings.

Tracking helps us advertise Commingle more effectively. It doesn’t unlock features, change your experience or determine how we treat your data.
