Terms of service

1. General Overview

Commingle provides tools for tracking personal finances, managing shared expenses and settling balances with friends.

New users receive a number of free credits upon registration to explore the service. Once these credits have been used, certain features require either:

• an active subscription; or
• the purchase of additional credit top-ups.

Current pricing, available plans and credit balances are always displayed within the app.

Commingle may introduce, modify or discontinue features at any time.

2. Eligibility

To use Commingle, you must:

• be at least 18 years old; or
• have permission from a parent or legal guardian if you are under 18 and local law permits your use of the service.

You are responsible for ensuring that your use of Commingle complies with the laws applicable to you.

3. Account Registration

You agree to:

• provide accurate and up-to-date registration information;
• keep your account credentials secure;
• promptly update your information if it changes.

You are responsible for all activity occurring under your account.

4. Credits, Subscriptions and Payments

New users receive free credits upon registration.

Once those credits have been used, additional credits may be obtained by:

• purchasing a subscription; or
• purchasing one-time credit top-ups.

Credits:

• have no monetary value;
• are non-transferable;
• may only be used within Commingle.

Subscription credits are replenished according to your subscription plan. Purchased top-up credits remain available until they are used.

Prices may vary by country, platform, currency or applicable taxes.

Unless required by applicable law or the policies of the relevant app store, all purchases are non-refundable.

Where required by law or by the relevant app store, users will be notified of subscription pricing changes before they take effect.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree to use Commingle only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms.

You must not:

• use Commingle for unlawful activities, including fraud or money laundering;
• submit content that is illegal, obscene, abusive or otherwise inappropriate;
• harass, threaten, impersonate or harm other users;
• use bots, scripts or automated tools that interfere with the normal operation of the service;
• attempt to bypass security measures or exploit vulnerabilities;
• reverse engineer, interfere with or disrupt the service.

Commingle reserves the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

6. Your Financial Data

You are responsible for the accuracy of the financial information you record in Commingle.

Commingle provides tools to help organise your finances but does not verify the accuracy or completeness of user-entered information.

Commingle is intended for personal financial organisation only and does not provide financial, investment, accounting, tax or legal advice.

7. User Content

You retain ownership of the information and content you submit to Commingle.

By using the service, you grant Commingle the limited rights necessary to store, process, encrypt, synchronise and display your data solely for the purpose of providing the service.

You represent that you have the necessary rights to upload and share any content you submit.

8. Account Deletion and Termination

You may delete your account at any time using the tools provided within the app or by contacting hello@commingle.app.

Following account deletion:

• your subscription will end at the conclusion of the current billing period unless cancelled through the relevant app store;
• your data will be deleted in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

Commingle may suspend or terminate your account if you:

• violate these Terms;
• engage in abusive, fraudulent or illegal activity;
• fail to pay applicable subscription fees where required.

Termination for violations may occur without prior notice.

9. Intellectual Property

Commingle and all related software, designs, graphics, text, logos, trademarks and other content are owned by Commingle or its licensors and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws.

Subject to these Terms, you are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the service.

You may not reproduce, distribute, modify or create derivative works from any part of the service without prior written permission.

10. Service Availability

We continually improve Commingle and may modify, suspend, discontinue or remove features at any time.

While we aim to provide a reliable service, we do not guarantee uninterrupted availability or error-free operation.

Scheduled or emergency maintenance may temporarily affect access to the service.

11. Limitation of Liability

Commingle is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law:

• Commingle disclaims all warranties not expressly stated in these Terms;
• we are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special or punitive damages arising from your use of the service;
• we are not responsible for loss of data, loss of profits or business interruption resulting from use of the service.

Nothing in these Terms limits liability where such limitation is prohibited by applicable law.

12. Privacy

Your use of Commingle is also governed by our Privacy Policy.

By using the service, you acknowledge that your information will be collected, processed and stored as described in the Privacy Policy.

13. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time.

Where changes are material, we will make reasonable efforts to notify users, including through email or in-app notifications.

Your continued use of Commingle after updated Terms become effective constitutes acceptance of those revised Terms.

14. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United Arab Emirates.

Any disputes arising from or relating to these Terms shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the competent courts of the United Arab Emirates.
